Timing belt broke - damage report???
Timing belt broke - damage report???
Well this is not directly f-body.. Its my 90 sunbird beater, so that I don't have to drive my f-body in snow
90 Sunbird 2.0 4cyl
Timing belt broke...
Is this an interference or non-interference motor, so would it have bent valves?
I called 4 gm service centers and 2 said interference and 2 said non... Makes me put a lot of faith in them

I cant remember off hand but I dont think it is an interferance setup. For all the trouble it is to change it shouldent be. When you change it use a manual, GM was "trick" and used the waterpump as the timing tensioner.

no worries.....it's non interference.
My GF's sister had a 93 Sunbird, and the belt broke going down the highway. Her parents gave the car to me if I could get it running.......one $25 belt and 45 minutes later it was running good as new.
Just slap a new one on and go plow those snowbanks
