ok so , my quest to get gears installed for less than 350 led me to this guy. this is only a humourus post so, sorry for taking up space but SOMEONE had to hear this.

ok so, i call the garage, explain my situation, i wanna go from 2.72 to 3.73, have all parts needed, period. the guys response is "you know thatll make your car go Slower right?" after the initial SHOCK of this guys stupidity.....i get into an argument with him trying to explain how a damn ten speed works....i just stop mid explaination and jokingly ask him to qoute the price on the install, ....he said ...anywhere from 350 to 500!!! DOLLARS heh....then commenced to say "you know you have to reprogram your ecm right?" "uhm no i dont" "yes you do" .........so uh....it seems as though every time i call a garage just to see what they would charge "daily affirmation of why i work on my car and it has never seen a garage" .........every time i call, for laughs.....its like i struck a gold mine of ignorance.....

im at a loss of works here....shock trauma.....so.....garages SUCK!!! Especially *performance* garages!!!! so remember...373's...make you go "slower" ESPECIALLY on bottom end..... HEH

And that is why I do all my own work...

 

It'll make it go slower in the sense that the top speed will be reduced. Somehow i doubt thats what he was trying to point out though...

 

no no, he said, very clearly, that my acceleration will be WAY slower......i GUESS he thinks 3.73s ar larger gears in actual size...which would make it slower and have higher top speed....but in any event, performance shops ...blow....and the funny thing is, i live in south carolina, youd think all these rednecks would know somehting about camaros .......
