What is this build up from?
I'm installing a new cam. Today I got to the point of pulling the push rods and lifters, and on the #6 set of lifters there was a major oilly gunk build up that made pulling that set of lifters a pain. It was like axle greese. I'm I just being overly conserned or is there a problem. Almost rid of the peanut or LA (Vader) CAM!

sometimes lifters are hard to get out and sometimes sludge builds up as a engine ages. i wouldn't worry about it if everything else looks good.
