How much is a typical port/polish????

How much should I expect to pay for a porting and polishing job of my stock cast L98 heads? What about for a reonditioning/3-angle valve job? Also, can I port my own TPI manifold base? How hard is this? If not, how much would that cost to get done? Thanks.

The TPI base is not hard, VADER has a Document on this showing/telling all that is needed to do the Plenum and Manifold fairly easy only takes mmm, maybe an hour or two at most depending on what you have at your exposal. Nice gains too, but i have no idea on the heads, sorry.

-Flowmaster Catback
-Performance Resource Chip
-700R4 (Rebuilt) Too much done to actually list
-K&N Airfilters
-Ported Plenum
-2.77 Gears (not much to brag about but eh, its there)
-MSD 8.5 mm plug wires
-Problems every other day with the car (probably not a mod, but to me it sure makes a difference)

X84,

I can't help you with the cost estimate of the head work, since I do most of that kind of thing myself. (I'm a cheap S.O.B.)

The plenum/runner/base porting will take WAY more than an hour. Plan on being tied to your die grinder and templates for at least a good 6-8 hours, including the cleaning and gasket matching of the whole assembly.

The guide is at:

Plenum Porting.pdf

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open/print the file.
