is anyone familiar with the digital EGR valve???? i need to know if it's possible to remove and clean the (3) valves. i can't exactly afford to just buy a new one.....GM price is $350, Pep Boys is around $200.

Is it stuck or are you just getting the check engine light.??

If you are getting a code and the valve is occationally sticking you can get a EGR gasket that has a screen accross the intake orofice.

This prevents any voodoo from getting to the valve and causing it to stick.

I have the part # for the 4.3 gasket at the shop, I'll get it tomorrow. I think they use the same gasket.

no codes. all 3 are working properly. i think there is some carbon build -up that is causing one of the valves to remain open a little when i'm decelerating and it starts to choke the engine. (acually stalled it twice a while ago)

Sometimes I get a stall with a customers digital EGR and then it clears itself up.

This is caused by little pieces of carbon passing through the valve.

I usually just spray out the valve (don't try to take it apart) with carb cleaner and use the screened EGR gasket.

This usually clears up the problems.

Its made by Tomco, I'll get it tomorrow.

Here is the 4.3 Vortech part #, I don't know if its the same EGR gasket as your 3.1.
