Idle Speed?
Idle Speed?
I put a K&N filter on my car and this raised my idle speed from 600 RPM to 1300 RPM.
1)Is this hurting anything? or am I just parinoid?
2)And if it is how do I adjust it?

Past: 1990 RS 305 TBI (A woman forgot what red lights are for)
Current: mostly stock - newer 305 w/ 12,000 on it
Eclipse speakers all around w/ 10" tube powered by a Alpine V12 in back
K&N filter w/XStream flow lid - It is sweet!!
Future: 2" Cowl hood

Neo,
If you've ONLY changed the filter, there should be little or no change in idle speed. Unless the engine had cooled significantly while you changed over, or the old filter was nearly plugged, there should be little change.
If the idle is higher once the engine is fully warmed, there is another problem. You really can't adjust curb idle speed without reporgramming the PROM. The PROM has a target hot idle speed and will try everything to adjust to accomplish that.
