Whining power steering pump.
About two weeks ago I noticed that My poweer steering pump, which is just over a year old, was whining just faintly. So I looked at it when i got home and it was topped off and the lines were secure and nothing looked out of the prdinary. It would come and go and in the morning while my car was warming up it would come on but if I turned off the heater it would stop whining. Last night it got really bad. It was the first time I had driven my car in a week, it was running great on the way to work. On the wy home the pump was whing everytime I took a turn. then this morning it was whining all the time, it becomes a higher pitched whine the higher the rpm until the engine drowns it out. But is is whining really loud and when i turn it becomes higher pitched what could be causing this to happen? Is my pump going bad??

Check the color of the oil, if it is kind of a milky (not white colored) color. It is possible that there might still be some air trapped in the system. The whining noise is one of the indications of this along with the milky color.

Okay the fluid is gold i know that much however a few months ago I did check the oil level and it was pretty low. Is there a chance that it sucked some air and now it is whining?

Yep, and when you bled the system after changing out the power steering pump there is usually just a tiny bit of air trapped in the lines.

Also when I changed the pump I changed the pressure line as well, so it is not old and leaking. Trickster what would be the best way to get the air out of the pump so it will quit whining. I have a guy coming to look at my car sat or sun so I want something that can fix it quickly ,but correctly, even if that means I have I do have to pull it off.

A leaky return line will allow air to be sucked into the system.
To bleed it, let it sit overnight; raise the front wheels off the ground, to make them as easy as possible to turn; fill the pump; start the engine; turn the wheel slowly from lock to lock; turn the engine off; fill the pump to the full mark again.
Replace the return hose before you do this, otherwise it will keep getting air in it, and belching the fluid and making noise.
