O2 sensor.

Ok, I am sure this has been answered a million times, but I must have missed it. What exactly does the O2 sensor do? Is it pricey? Is it easy to replace yourself?

The O2 reads the oxygen content of the exhaust and relays this info back to the computer. The computer (in closed loop that is)will use this information to determine run richer or leaner. It is not that expensive, around $30. With the proper socket, its very simple to replace. It is also recommend to replace it every 30k miles.
