World S/R Intake porting pics....

Well I want to get the advice from some people on this board. I have started porting the intake of my World S/R Heads with 1.94/1.5 valves(these ones are the same as a lot of you use on your 305 except mine have the 67cc chambers). The first two pics are of the intake ports stock, the rest are after. I have really only done the rough cutting with the carbides, nothing has been smoothed out yet but I want some good criticism.

The most suprising part of these heads is there is a lot of descrpeniceies in the continuity of the ports...for instance, in the pushrod pinch area of ports some needed substantial metal removal to match other ports that were completly stock...and a few stock bowls were already at 80% intake valve size, but others needed substatial metal removal in places to obtain the same size.

Right now all the bowls are at about 83% intake valve size. I want to get to 87% or so but I am not sure where to take metal off....I know the area closest to the cylinder centerline between the guide and head bolt needs to be opened up but can it be opened up anymore? Should I even bother opening up the bowl on the shrouded cylinder wall side or on the top of bowl(the furthest from the intake port entrance)...I've heard opening up these areas is bad cause there is not much flow there, but should I open them up slightly? Any advice on where you think I should continue to removal metal to get good performance from these heads is welcomed....I'm looking for a solid 30HP increase and .3 tenth drop with these on my 355 (203/212@.050 hydro cam, Dart dual plane, roller rockers, 650 DP, 9.4 Cr...runs best of 14.3@96.5mpg right now).

Hey AllGoNoShow, looks like you beat me to it! I can't believe I missed this thread the first time around, not to mention all the searching I've been doing.

If you recall, I have the S/R's too. I have finally gotten started on the porting:

Its probably too late, but I *think* ideally the bowl behind the valve head (that you're trying to get to 87%) should be as concentric with the valve head as possible. Funny, I've found a lot of the same issues (bowl dia. & other differences between ports, etc). chamber has lots of nice sharp ridges all over too. I'm about half done with the rough stuff.

I've got a few questions of my own regarding my work in the above thread, but I figure my finished product will surely be better than the original untouched casting (don't plan on getting too wild), I figure the advice from the resident TGO pros will be icing on the cake.

How did they turn out? Any final pictures? Did you get them flowed, and do you have any new track times?
