need help
An '82 column will not have an inflatable restraint (air bag) and will not have wiring provisions nor the lock cylinder for the VATS system on your car. While you can get by without the air bag, the engien will not start without a working VATS system. You'll need a '90 or later column, or repair parts for your existing column.

you can make it work, i did, You need to bore out the hole for the ignition cylinder for your vats cylinder since its larger then the older non-vats cylinders, also you will more then likely have to swap over your wiper/cruize control stick thinggy.. not too hard to do just pop a pin out pull the wires through and fish it through the new column..
