T-top question - lexan vs. glass & interchangibility...

I've got the lexan t-tops on my '92 RS and was wondering how hard it would be and would it be worth it to swap them out for glass t-tops. One of my t-tops is slightly scratched on the outside, the metal trim has surface rust, plus both of them have the internal cracking that I hear they are notorious for. If I found some glass t-tops, I should be able to just swap over all of the hardware (locks, drip rail, trim cover, etc) to them, shouldn't I? Any advantages/disadvantages with the glass t-tops? I don't really care that they are heavier than the lexas tops, unless of course the weight causes some sort of other problem.

I swapped to glass from the plastic (lexan) ones. Yes, you can interchange the hardware.

I know a guy who has a set of glass ones for sale with the leather storage bag for a good price. I think they're off an 88 IROC. His name is Shawn and his email addy is smiller@bmt.net. Or you can call him at (406) 683-4160.

I swapped my glass ones for some lexan ones from a formula. I swapped all the hardware also since locks worked and he didn't have the keys for his.

All the third gen t-tops should be interchangable size wise.

I actually did this swap tonight. Everything fits fine, if it doesn't just adjust the plastic "brackets" on the pillars. I now have less wind noise and less squeeks

Cool deal, thanks guys. When I get some more money I'll look for a set of glass t-tops.
