LT1 rods

How much power can LT1 rods handle? I want to throw them in my buildup because I hear they are stronger than the GM "Pink" rods and I am trying to keep cost down... I know I can get a set of lt1 rods on ebay really cheap. Thinks in advance!

Be careful about the generic term "LT1 rods". They may be one of at least three varieties of con rods. They could be from teh early '70s series of LT1s, they could be from teh early runs of the '90s version of the LT1 which are not any better than stock "pink" rods, or they could be the more desireable powdered metal con rods from the mid-'94-UP LT1 engines.

Powedered metal rods are commonly rated to 450 HP applications, but I'd be plannign to check them thoroughly and balance them well for that level of service.

IIRC, PM rods big ends can't be resized.

the 94 on PM rods had a machined edge on the mating surface so they could be reconditioned
