Timing a V-6 2.8L
Timing a V-6 2.8L
I am having a tough time getting to the bolt to adjust the timing at the distributor. Does anyone know if it is metric or standard and what size? i thought it was a 9/16" so I bought the standard distributor wrench from Auto Zone but couldn't make it fit. Most of this 1985 Chevy Camaro is metric. If I could just get a good bite on it with the right wrench maybe I could set the timing. Does anyone know if I need to unhook anything to set the timing on the MPFI V-6 2.8L? The Hanyes book doesn't show anything but I wasn't sure how you could do that without the computer trying to compensate when you adjusted the timing.Any Help would be very appreciated!

I got a 5/8(I think) socket that attaches at a 90* angle. It looks
like the head of a wrench. I made this picture because I can't think of what its called.
