Will this be enough?

My motor builder was kinda iffy on this so I wanted to see what you guys thought.I using a XE274H Comp cam with 490 lift on vortecs.A friend of mine swears up and down that a set of "Z" springs will be enough for clearance over the stock springs. My motor builder says it "should be".I can get those Z springs cheap and would rather not buy the big Comp springs. This is going in a fresh 30 over 350 4 bolt with 10 to 1 hyper pistons.I think the vortecs are rated to 480 lift so the Z springs should be enough right?

You may also have a retainer to boss clearance issue. Vortecs have a problem with the valve spring retainer hitting the valve guide, with high lift greater than .460" lift.

Try searching for vortecs on here, and you will find what needs to be done to run more than .460" lift.
