L 98 vs. Vortec
305 HO, L69. Want to upgrade heads. I know that you have to mill the vortec to keep the compression ratio. I know they flow better than the L 98's. Also know the intake is much more expensive, as well as the valve covers, and rocker arms.
Read a post stating that the Vortecs produced 16 more ponies than the L98's. 16 is a lot, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra $400.00.
My question is, the cast iron L98's...what size of combustion chamber do they have....will it maintain my compression ratio, and what size of intake/exhaust do they have?
Thanks again

Rocker arms are the same too. The cast-iron L98's have 64cc combustion chambers...not sure about the valves, probably 1.94/1.50.
