OK, My 86 LG4 carb has some problems. When I start it cold, it runs on roughly 6 cylinders. I believe this is from the choke staying on for too long, not pulling out soon enough, maybe??? It's been doing this for a while and it would appear that this is filling my oil with fuel. I believe this is what is causing the fuel to get into the oil. The oil smells "gassy" and there is no missing antifreeze. Would running really rich on startups like that cause the oil to get filled, or is it some sort of "other leak?" While I'm on it, does the electric choke get a constant 12V, or is that computer controlled or something? Any help would be appreciated.

Running extrememly rich at startup can put fuel in the oil. Invest the $12 in a choke pull-off diaphragm, it will pay for itself in a short time.
If your oil is gettign really lots of fuel in it (like if there seems to be more oil in there than you put there) replace your fuel pump. Another $14 and 15 minutes well spent.

Thanks.
I did have the fuel pump changed 2 years ago, but it was by a garage just out of town. I wouldn't doubt it if they put some piece of crap rebuilt junk pump on there. The oil level looks like it's about a quart or more too high.
