Upgraded Ignition System = Performance?
I have a 1990 Plymouth Sundance right now that I bought from someone over the summer and they had an MSD 6AL ignition system in it with the RPM limiter set at 6000RPM.
I'm going to be getting rid of this car for a Camaro/Firebird in the next couple months, and I was thinking I could swap the ignition system into the new car. How much of a performance gain would be noticed by upgrading the ignition system to the MSD 6AL with a Blaster 2 coil? I would think it would be at least somewhat noticeable in the upper RPMs, but I have no idea what kind of quality the stock ignition system is on these F-bodies.
Does anyone have any idea as to how much power would be gained by this upgrade?
I realized I didn't mention what engine it would be put onto. I'm hoping that I can find a car with an L98 retrofitted with a T-5. Otherwise, a plain LB9 305 TPI.

Yea, as far as ignition goes on street cars (race is a little different here) an aftermarket ignition won't make much, if any, more power than a properly working factory ignition will. The only real difference might be at the pump, like mentioned above.

Alright. Hey, I've been looking for a good deal on an F-body for a while now and I was just wondering... If I were to get a V6 model w/ T-5, would I be able to drop in a 350sbc that my uncle has without having to swap the transmission? My buddy and I can rebiuld the T-5 with titanium syncros and cobalt-coated shiftforks.
