Polishing inside of Super Ram??
I'm going to be ready to install my Super Ram Runners onto my new engine soon, and I'll probably put the plenum on with a few fastners so I can get some good pics. Anyway here is my question. I noticed that the inside of the runners and the plenum, as well as the ports on my Edelbrock intake are all pretty rough. Would it be beneficial to polish these walls smooth, or does the roughness help "swirl" the intake charge?

Paul,
Unless the air travelling through the intake is at or near supersonic velocities (and it isn't) there is no real benefit from polishing the inside of the surfaces. Since the industion system is dry (no feul mixed with air at the opening) there is no real benefit to the rough surface, but no real detriment either. This is unlike combustion chambers and exhaust ports, where a high polish can be beneficial by retarding carbon formation and reflecting heat fdrom the heads.
