I recently purchased a complete TPI drivetrain from a 1988 GTA which i want to use in restoring a 1987 Firebird. It has an automatic 7oor4 transmission and has 3.27 gears in the rear. I was told that the motor was a 350 (5.7 litre) and according to the spec sheets found on this site it looks like it is a 5.7 litre, however on the bellhousing it is stamped GM 5.0l. Do I have a 5.0 litre or did GMstamp some of their 5.7 litres with a 5.0 litre marking.

sounds like you got a 305.. you could look up the casting number but it'll probably say its a 305 too.. if it really is stamped wrong the only way to actually tell would be to pull a head and measure the bore

The casting# on the crank will tell also. Try http://www.mortec.com to check casting #s.
