Carb to TPI swap
Carb to TPI swap
Ok, here's the deal. I have an 84 Sport Coupe with an LG4. I took a 350 TPI motor with the wiring harness and computer out of an 89 Trans Am. I am almost done rebuilding it. I also have the wiring harness, air filter box, gas tank, fuel lines, and the MAF stuff out of an 85 305 TPI Camaro. What all do I need to do to swap the 350 Trans Am motor into my Camaro? What problems will I run in to? ANY help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you have everything except for the time. Do take your time, this kind of swap should not be rushed or there will be problems. I did the same swap except mine was a 1986 SC and I used a 383 stroker. The biggest problem you'll encounter is the wiring INSIDE the car. You have an engine harness but the instrument panel harness is missing several wires. Also the fuel pump will need wires going back there. I made a diagram of the extra wires needed inside the car and behind the dash where most of the work is. Check it out here:

The '85 MAF stuff and '89 ECU and harness are incompatible. I would also like to warn you now, try and avoid any and all '85 TPI electrical junk.
