1/4 mile ET question
1/4 mile ET question
OK...all parts are either here or on order, build-up should begin within a week. Here's what I'm doing: TPIS Mini Ram, 58 mm TB, Canfield 197s, TPIS ZZ-409 cam (520 226@50 287 adv.), PI Vigilante 3200 stall, 1 3/4 Hooker LTs, TPIS Level 5 Prom. I've already got all the basics covered...3.73s, March 3 pc. power pulleys, MSD Ignition, 1 5/8 TES, etc. What kind of 1/4 mile times could I expect? BTW, hooking up shouldn't be a problem (BFG DRs) The car runs 12.42 with the stock heads, cam, intake on a 150 shot of crack. Just wondering what I can expect my new combo to run on motor? The bottom end of the motor is stock, so I doubt I'll be spraying this combo until I get my 383 or 396 built.

You don't need the rear gear when running a Vig. You will also run better on the crack with less rear gear.
If you keep the TPI then it's anybody's guess what you will run. Generic chips rarely work, and you'd probably need some extensive custom tuning to get that combo dialed in. You might want to talk to some of the experienced guys on here about doing your own ECM programming. It will save money in the long run.... unless of course you swap to a carb.
