How to adjust Valves/1.6 Comp Rollers?

Hi:

I did heads, shaved .020, new gasket, Fel Pro 1094-.015, to up compression but I have Comp Roller rockers, 1.6, and comp cam, for now, 12-402-4 and wondered if I should adjust these and how Would I do that or do I need to buy poly lock nuts as I did on GTO, but so far we heard no valve float????

Are they the full roller rockers or just the roller tips?

Vendor: Competition Cams, Inc.
Product Line: Competition Cams Magnum Steel Roller Tip Rockers
Material: Chromemoly Steel
Finish: Bare

Get one of the highest lift rockers for the street.

Chevrolet: 265-400, 3/8 in. stud, 1.60 ratio, Magnum roller tip rockers

One way to increase power is to increase lift. That's what makes these Competition Cams Magnum steel roller tip rocker arms so popular. They're one of the highest lift rockers you can get outside of racing. And along with the lift, you also get a ball pivot roller tip to prevent valve stem and guide wear.

Doesn't matter which ones they are.

They adjust the same as any other rockers would adjust in one of these motors. Loosen until they tick, tighten back until the tick stops, add desired amount of preload (½ turn is a normalish sort of preload, but your choice may vary).

Not necessarily, I have a set of these rockers and it takes a real thin walled socket to adjust them running. Real thin wall. Be cautious of just sticking a regular socket on there while runing because you might have a binding issue.

I made this out of an old spark plug socket. It is .100" thinner that a Craftsman or Snap On 5/8 socket. Works great.

Yeah, I second that about the thin walled socket. I have the roller tip magnums and you cannot fit a regular socket on with the valve closed.

Thanks as I just put motor top back together and rockers are tight and wondered about that, but I hoped to do it myself.

Thought maybe like a solid cam, hydraulic, could of been set per cylnider before start as we removed .020 off heads and went to Fel Pro 1094 gasket to get a total change of .046 (76 Heads cc) with Federal Mogul 40 over HYP pistons H345NP40 pistons.

It makes sense because a couple rockers I turned Grank a little to get to with socket I had to get them off!

Editing this after getting on comps web page and hope it helps others as well:
