Autometer Guage results!!
I've been having oil pressure issues for a while now. I knew that the stock guages weren't very reliable so I started with that. I changed the sender, and saw no change. Then I went to oil brand. I was originally using valvoline synthetic blend, but I talked to some guys that said valvoline is going down hill with a lot of additives and low heat resistance. Changing oil was to no evail. So I dropped the bomb and got an Automete electric oil pressure guage. I already had a dual pod waiting, so I installed them both the other day.
I was VERY pleased with my results. The stock guage had been telling me i was never above 30 psi, and that I was getting down to 10 psi at 160+, idle, and in gear. The autometer is now showing me otherwise.
Cold Idle = 60-75 psi
Cold drive = same
160, driving = 50-75
160+, ilde, in gear = 25-30
This is such a relief, cause I was worried I'd have to rebuild. I was pretty sure if was the guage cause the engine only has 40k on it. Now I can concentrate on my chassis and suspension to get myself into the 13's by the end of the summer.
