ive been working on this 90 Iroc LB9/auto. 6 of 8 injectors were bad so i installed 8 brand new units. still ran okay after fix and ithat fixed the no hot start problem, but it still stalled on light throttle application and when attempthing to stall the engine against the convertor. sooo i swapped from the stock 7730/ATNY combo to a known good 7730/AXXB from my 92 LB9 auto. Worked great. I get new 7730 ecm, reinstall stock ATNY chip back in and car runs and has same symptons as before.

Im guessing the injectors being as bad as they were messed up the ecm, but can it also ruin a Prom chip? I will be trying a brand new AJUP chip in it tomorrow and see if it makes a difference for the better.

It is possible that failed injectors can damage (short) the output transistors in the ECM, and cause a rich condition, but not at all likely that the circumstances could alter the PROM. I'd bet lunch on it.

 

neato - lots of testing today with 3 diff chips and 2 computers. finally jsut settled on the reman ecm and stock ATNY chip. Seems to be running okay currently. but i have what im positive is ONE last problem to sort out with this car. time to make another post!
