HEI coils

Is it worth putting an 46,000 or 50,000 volt coil on top of a stock HEI distibutor. Will it help out in the quarter and top end too. I was thinking about getting a accell. Thanks

if you have to replace one you might as well up grade i doubt if you'd see any preformance increase over stock with a stock or lightly modded engine.

I don't have to replace it. The engine is modified and I pull it to 6,500 and I don't think the stock coil can perform at those rpms. That why I want to know if I should buy a coil.

its not really a matter of the coil at that point... but rather the module get one of those MSD High Energy module's...they really up the spark in the higher RPMs vs. stock modules... hehe read up on em...the coil will perform fine
