Small block weight

How much does a typical small block weigh? I'm trying to get an estimate for shipping my L98 longblock to someone. Thanks.

I would have to say at least 500-600 lbs. this may vary with the amount of parts, and the amount of aluminum parts. just my $.02

a fully dressed smallblock with iron heads, iron intake, quadrajet, waterpump, distributor, and starter
weighs right at 600 lbs.


a chevy bigblock with the same stuff
weighs 750 lbs.
