Modine radiators compared to GDI.

The side tanks on the radiator on my 87 T/A Vin H w/auto are beginning to leak. The local Pontiac dealer tells me that GM has discontinued the tanks for the H.

So, I'm looking for a new rad.

I have read several good reports on Modine rads. I have seen very little mentioned about GDI, but I haven't heard of any horror stories about GDI either.

The local, right-around-the-corner, Pep Boys sells the GDI model I need. So, for convenience sake, I'm wondering. . .

Would a GDI rad instead of a Modine make all that much difference in a stock daily driver that rarely sees 55mph during the week and occasionally 70mph on the weekend?

What has been your GDI experience?

Thanks,
Joe

I got a GDI rad about 4 months ago and it went in fine, and has worked just fine...no problems what so ever.

Thanks for the reply, Mo.

I was talking to a friend today who put a GDI in his car about 2 years ago. His opinion is that it was much better constructed than the original rad. He hasn't had any problem with it.

I put a Modine in my Trans Am back in October, no problems from it and I believe it has either a 5 or 10 year Warranty.
