Fan switch installation questions

I'm getting ready to replace my fan switch with an even cooler hypertech one (1990 IROC 350). First of all, what's with that wire connector they sent me? I don't see how it splices into the stock system and it looks like I can just hook up the new switch without it.

Secondly, can I just pull the old switch and slip the new one in real quick without taking the time to drain the radiator. Last time I did this I drained the radiator and still got antifreeze all over the place, so I figure if I'm fast enough it won't make much difference. Thanks guys.

As far as pulling out the sensor, if the coolant is cool you can probably unscrew it and lose little if any coolant due to the same effect you get from hold your finger over the top of a straw. If the coolant tries to run out it creates a vacuum that resist it. Leave the cap on!

Cool. Thanks for the response, man. Nothing I hate worse than siphoning the radiator off and then refilling it, except for maybe a dull pair of tin snips. Don't ask .
