TPI / 327, Please advise if possible
I've got an 85 IROC TPI. The original LB9 engine was seized, it came that way.
I got it running with a carb, but it smokes and it will never pass smog like that. So I'm going to put in a rebuilt 327 that I've had around for a while. It's a factory LJ crank with flattop pistons in a roller block. I'll be using a set of reworked 416 heads cc'd for the same CR as the stock LB9. It will also have an LT1 cam, and that's about 203*/208*@.050.
The factory TPI will be used til something better comes along and to pass smog (Calif)
I'd appreciate any input from guys experienced with such a combo as far as injector size and fuel pressure and PROM tuning.
I'm guessing that probably have to use the stock chip for smog test.
I'm going to post this in TPI also
Thanks for any help

I'd go for all the 350 TPI parts to start with... computer, injectors, sensors, etc etc... untill it passes smog.
As for the LT1 cam, I don't think you can use that in that block, unless you mean the old 1970 solid lifter LT1 cam. The new LT1 bumpstick is a roller, and your 327 block is not.
If you have the 1970 LT1 cam, you cant use it. The solid lifters will drive the computer bonkers, and (even if that didn't happen) you'd never pass smog with that cam anyway.

He mentioned that the 327 block was roller. Was it converted?
I suppose if its all there it won't matter. They stuck TPI's on 305's, a 327 shoud make more.

I'll be using a 350 roller block with a LJ 3.25" stroke crank, hyd roller lifters and an LT1 roller cam.
The 350s didn't come out in the F-bodys til a few years after mine, and the ECM that I have in my car was never used with a 350 AFAIK.
The main thing I'd like to find out about is the injectors. Cause I have to either clean or replace the original ones, and if the 327 would require different injectors than the 305 to begin with... well then it would be a waste to have the factory injectors cleaned.
Would the stock 350 injectors be a good choice?

Thanks
OK... So I'll be getting a new set of injectors.
I read in some other posts that SVO injectors are good, would the 24# SVO injectors be a good call?
