Pretty easy job.
Remove tires and drums or calipers/rotors.
Remove rear end cover and drain.
Remove rear end pin with 5/16 wrench. (use a 6 point, the 12 points sometimes will round this off, you don't want that.) Make sure rear end gears are placed so that when you pull the bolt, the center pin will fall all the way out of the carrier.
Push axles straight in towards the center, there will be a C-clip on the inside that will fall off each axle.
Pull axles out, look for wear on the ends indicating bad bearings.
Pull seals, re-assemble in reverse.
When doing the c-clips on assembly, push axles all the way in, slide c-clip on, and push axle back out.
One small note, do not rotate gear set with center pin out of the carrier, this will drop out the spider gears.
If you have a posi it makes the c-clips a little harder to do, but its not that bad.
Use a little loctite on the bolt. I usually don't use anything but silicon on the rear end cover.
