rod selection

I did a search but couldn't find any that answered my question well enough. First, I own a 3.4L DOHC V6 and I can use 327 small journal rods in it. The wrist pin is larger and the big end needs some machining to make it narrower, but they are cheaper after the work then buying some custom rods.

My engine is turbocharged and I would like it to be able to hold 400hp. I am having forged pistons made that use the larger SBC wrist pin. What I am looking for is the cheapest strongest rod I can find, but aren't we all. If I could find some for under $300 it would be great.

400hp on a V6 is about 66hp per rod, or around 533hp total on a V8. The redline is at 7000 so light weight would be nice.

Any suggestions.

Really? Ok, you might be able to find some cheap H-beams for about $300. Or some scat or eagle I-beam with capsrews, you can get them anywhere for under $300.

Could you point me towards these places, the only place I found that is that cheap is Ebay, and I don't trust Ebay for this type of thing.

Are the I beams up to the task, in other threads I saw "under 6000 or 6500" and "400hp max".

The rods you buy from the Ebay merchants are mostly good parts, just be aware of what brand you're buying and buy from a seller that's reputable. You'll save $100 or more compared to what a parts store will charge you for the identical part.
