Where does this go?

Found this unplugged when I got the carmy father and I decided to plug it to be safe, and I forgot about it until today.

There's a hose running from the canister to a T then one end goes somewhere under the car, and on the topside a short hose (circled in red) that connected to nothing and was open.

What is it, and should we have left it unplugged?

Okay, that is the inlet air tube for the charcoal canister. On mine, there is a plastic cover that goes over it. It looks like that piece on yours was broken or removed and a hose was installed in its place. BTW, it doesn't plug into anything.

The canister on my 91 GTA has a similar hose setup (with the T).. Its just the air inlet, you can leave it open..
