Crate Motor Deliverys
I know somebody here has ordered a crate motor before. How did you get it?
Did you have it shipped to your house? Did you go pick it up at a terminal?
I read in the back of my Pace catalog that if it comes to your house you have to have the necesary equipment to unload it ready. We don't have that.

i read in a (few) mag articles that they will deliver to your door.. im assuming they wont put it exactly where you want it, but within reason... you have an engine stand?

I had my shortblock shipped straight to my friend's house since I didn't have a garage. I also had the option to pick it up at the nearest truck terminal for a slightly lesser fee but was too much of a hassle.
I didn't need any special equipment...the delivery truck had a power lift on the back that made it easy.
BTW, I got mine through Mailorder Autocenter in Dallas and they arranged everything.

Yeah, I had an option to pick it up at a truck terminal or whatever you call it, or have it delivered for a little more. I had it delivered. Dude just pulled up w/ it in the back of his truck and we slid it down a ramp into my garage...

Your crate motor will be delivered to any address you specify, be your home or a business. It makes no differents to the trucking company, You are as they say, Paying the freight. No big deal.

Ideally, the motor will be in (or at least on) a crate, so all you should need to move it around is a handtruck. Your biggest problem would be if the delivery truck didn't have a power lift. If it has a ramp....umm, have some strong friends over to play catch...lol. If it has nothing, then...

We ordered it. I asked the guy if the truck would have the lift or not. He checked, then I think he sent it through a different company that would have the lift for us.
