A buddy of mine has a thirdgen with an l98 that has had a problem that he says is heat related. Car runs fine for short trips but he says if the car is run for a while, or sits still while running and gets hot then it does something strange. It will shut down on him, only while hes pressing the gas pedal. He says it makes some sort of sound and if hes quick enough to react that he can take his foot off the gas pedal and it will continue working if hes light on the gas. But sometimes it shuts down all-together. Any thoughts??? I was thinking ignition module but he says he replaced that a couple months ago. Sounds strange....

 

Also; he says hes not possitive if its heat related. So I guess any input would help.

 

modules fail hot and just because it's been replaced doesn't mean it's still good. does it restart after it dies? is the tune up good? no codes?

 

He says it usually restarts after sitting a while, but a couple of times he has had it towed. Tune up is good he says and he doesn't know about codes so....
