busted 2 rockers!!HELP???

I just bought a set of roller tip long slot rockers. I have buster 2 of them already. They are busting where the ball is. It's like the ball is ripping through the slots. I busted one yesterday on number 7 intake and one today on number 2 intake. DO you think I bought a junk set of rockers. No the lash isn't to tight. I set them between a 1/4 and a 1/2. I can't think of anything that would cause them to break on the bottom like that. What do you guys think. Oh, The motor is a 355 the cam is an edelbrock rpm preformer and the heads are world product S/R,s. Thanks

You probably need valve springs and retainers. The only other possible explanation is that the slot isn't long enough.

The problem is the the springs are coil-binding, or the retainer is hitting the valve guide; or less likely, that the end of the slot is binding on the stud. If it turns out to be a bind from too much lift, expect some studs to pull out next, because they've now been massively overstressed by the other problem.

IMHO those rockers are junk.

I doubt I'll pull a stud sincxe they are screw in studs. The springs are not binding either. They are capibale of .550 lift and my max lift is .510. The rockers are not binding on the stud either because they are long slot rockers which prevents that. but thatnks anyways. I think the rockers are just pieces of sh#t., I'm going to buy a set of comp. or crane roller rockers. Thanks

those rockers are junk.

check to see if they are getting oil properly when the engine is running. Sometimes the oil hole doesn't line up right with the rod.
you might want to think about switching to some good quality rollers.
