I am about to replace my intake, carb, and im going to get hedders. I want to know exactly what i need to do other thatn that to get rid of my emissions system. I've heard some things about the torque converter needing a vacuum line, and about the distributor not working without the computer connections on the carb. I'm sure someones done this before, so I'll appreciate any help.

With a non computer controlled (cc) carburetor you need a vacuum advance distributor. The Carb and Distributor are really a 'package' deal.

So if I want to get rid of the old QuadraJet I have to get a new distributor along with it? I was hoping I was gonna be able to avoid replacing the distributor too. Anyone with some advice on the torque converter vacuum?

You need the distributor unless you replace it with a new computer controlled carb. The distrib won't have advance if you do away with the carb (no TPS readings to computer).

As for the vaccum line, the 700-r4 doesn't run off of vaccum, it only runs off of the TV cable. Your new carb should have a place for it.
