What are the best grinding stones to use to take out massive amounts of cast aluminum? This is for a die grinder, not a Dremel tool.

Summit racing sells them. They have 2 sets, one carbide, one non-ferrous. However it says the non-ferrous is for aluminium. Oh well the part numbers are:

3) 6" Carbide Bits - SUM-900640 $49.99
4) 2" Carbide Bits - SUM-900240 $53.60
3) 6" Non-Ferrous Bits - SUM-900630 $66.69
3) 2" Non-Ferrous Bits - SUM-900230 $65.39

You can use the new thirdgen.org 10% discount, too.

you can also buy a whole kit from Standard Abrasives, but its meant for a dremel, I believe. Check out their site at

little suggestion for grinding aluminum. wax or soap on a carbide bit will help reduce buildup significantly.
