Today I was driving home from school.....and car overheated BAD...I was really close to home when it started....so I went ahead and drove it home....I noticed the fan wasnt working at all....ended up that the fan motor was bad....replaced it...working fine now...car doesnt over heat (as long as I have AC on...i think the teflon tape on the fan switch I replaced is stopping it from grounding...would that be true?) Only problem....now it makes a loud popping/grinding noise.....sounds like something is rattling really hard (possibly the heat shields on the exhaust manifolds...though it just started) It even kinda sounds like its a popping sound under the valve covers....its really weird......anyone have any clue what this could be? Thanks

I was driving to school....and I noticed that the sound it was making could be felt (the vibrations) through the shifter...and a bit at the floor of the car....what the hell is going on? It kinda seems like maybe the fan or the serpentine belt is being caught on something...but Im not sure.

Fire up the engine and use a stick of wood or something pressed to your ear to locate where the sound is coming from.
