Owners of Comp Pro Magnums, need help.
I have Aluminum Roller Rockers now and they are VERY noisy. They are adjusted right and they don't tick, just when the motor is hot like in town and I stop next to another car, you can hear them chatter. I have heard this is normal with ALRR, but I hate it. I want something quieter. I would like to avoid a stock rocker arm. I have narrowed it down to Comp Pro magnum's full steel rollers, or just the Magnum's with roller tip. I have a set of the comp magnum's now on my truck and it is bone stock quiet. I want the Pro Magnums but I am worried that they are noisy from loose bearing clearances at the stud like the Aluminum ones. So my question is...

They are somewhat noisier than stock or the Magnum rockers, but much quieter than typical aluminum roller rockers. They make a light whirring noise as opposed to the usual clatter.
Of course, you may have other sources of noise, that changing the rockers won't cure; anything from push rods loose in whatever guides them, to valve springs with outers that rub on inners, valves loose in their guides, etc.
You've got a real mild cam though, barely more aggressive than stock, it's nothing like the really hot ones like the Comp Extreme rollers or any of those, so at least you shouldn't have just an overall elevated noise level.
As far as "worth it''..... it was "worth it" to me, but that's just me. But of course I didn't pay anywhere near that for them.

Do you guys think I would loose power by going to a regular magnum versus the pro magnums? I take it to 6000 rpm.

I have the Pro Magnum 1.52's on my car and they are some what noisey but nothing you cant tune out. I prefer the Pro Magnums because of the Chromolly Design and the fact that they are rebuildable. So I thought $256 was well spent for me.

I run the pro magnums... Dunno how much more noise they produce because I'm running a solid lifter cam but they're a great rocker. Here's a pic, these aren't the self aligning ones though.

Nice! Super clean. That is a good price for those rockers too.
Can someone guess if I would loose any power buy going to the regular magnums?
I am willing to give up like 5 hp for a silent valvetrain. It was cool at first to have this thing chatter and clatter, but now it is annoying. I have heard that these Proform rockers are the noisiest ones of all.

Yes you will lose some power; no I doubt it will be much, probably not even 5 HP. The single biggest effect I'd expect to see would be increased oil temp; as the rocker ***** are probably the hottest moving part in an engine, especially at high RPMs. Rockers get hot enough there to color the metal. Rollers cure that.

THanks RB, the reason I ask about the Magnums is because I have a set on my old work truck with less than 1,000 miles on them and I was thinking about swapping them to my car to get it quiet.

The Magnums are roller-tip with a ball fulcrum. The Pro Magnums have roller trunnion instead of a ball fulcrum. They're really rollers.
Rocker ratio has nothing to do with valve cover height.
Typically you need taller valve covers with any roller rockers, because they use Poly Locks instead of lock nuts, which are much taller. You can see them, and how tall they are, in Evil's pic.

I'm going to be tight on money for a loooooooong time (moving), so would the regular Magnums be okay? What type of gains would I see? And am I losing my mind or does Summit not have any center bolt valve covers?
Edit- I have a stock cam, would 1.6 or 1.52 be better?

THAT'S IT! I have had it with this dumb chattering. It is very annoying, my motor sounds like crap. I am going to order a set of Comp magnums tomorrow. These chinesium roller rockers aren't going to cut it! Some guy just now in town was like" That thing sounds like it has a huge solis lifter cam in it, does it?" I guess that is kinda cool, but if the valve train was quiet, the car would be a sleeper at idle.

update
I changed the rockers from the proforms to the comp magnums. I did notice that the magnums were lighter as far as rotating mass. Anyway, I thought I would loose some power, but instead it feels WAY more powerful! Maybe it is the precision 1.52 lift that comp has. I revs smoother and the motor feels tighter. I should have put these on in the beginning. Oh yeah, it is almost like factory at idle, give of take the lope and the headers, LOL.
