Question about my distributor cap and rotor replacement

Alright I replaced my distributor cap and rotor and I was wondering if I was suppose to put the spark plug wires in the exact place they were before and also how do I do the timing of it all. I also dont remember exactly where the spark plug wires went originally.

Yes,they need to be in the same place on the new cap as they were on the old cap or the car will not crank.Or if it does it wont run for crap.

replace wires one at a time there would be no need to reset timing, the cap and rotor change wouldn't effect it.
