Spark gap
On the plate on my hood it says the plug gap should be .035, but most people here saying something about a .045 gap. I have a completely unmodded engine, the 305 V8, except I have an open element air cleaner. Which gap should I run with?

Either is fine.
.035" is probably better, because a smaller gap is easier for the spark to jump across; but it isn't going to make much difference one way or the other.

I'd also go with the .035 in that application.
