i have 2 wires that have connectors on them on both and they look like they should go together. however i do not want to mess up anything. they are between the transmisson and the oil drainage doo-hickey...sry but i don't know too much about cars yet

Well, without seeing a picture of them and going on the general location that you say they are in. I would have to say they are probably for the coolant temp sending unit and the O2 sensor.
