EGR?
EGR?
Hey all,
>Got a questions for you. I am thinking about picking up a set of Vortech
heads and a Vortech TBI intake (yes, they make one)for the 305 that I have
in the 92. I am uncertain about this whole EGR thing though. I know what
it stands for but that's about it. The literature on the manifold says
it has provisions for EGR. I have no idea what that means, if I even need
it, or how I deal with it once I put it on. This 305 doesn't have the smog
pump, or any of the tubes I see in most people's exhaust manifolds (i think
they are called A.I.R tubes) and I am getting rid of the cat, so I'm not
sure if I'll even need this EGR stuff. Any help at all would be great.

I'm not really sure where you live - but depending on where there may be strict regulations against not using EGR. I believe edelbrock makes a TBI manifold with provisions for EGR valves. I could be wrong - i may have read it in a drunken stupor. Hope i can help.
I don't want to use EGR. I have no emmisions and therefore am not using any computer controlled anything. I just need to know what to do with a manifold with EGR. Can i just block it off?

Could someone reply to that question?
I am looking to remove my egr and smog equipment. Please don't try to discourage me from doing so...because if I have to I will trial and error this crap 'til it works. I just completely rebuilt my 305 and don't want to run smog/egr on my new manifold. I am already planning on emulating the ECM and just need to know what to do with the manifold. Like the last question asked, can I just block it off? If anyone has completed this conversion please give me your input. If you are one of those guys that just replies to posts so that you can give somebody crap about the work they are doing please save your time and hot air. Thanks!
