I Dyno My SBC 400
Well after the last month of building anc changing parts I was able to get it on the dyno last week and i'm happy with the results for my weekend cruiser. We done the break-in for 20 minutes and did a total of 10 pulls. There is still a lot of potential left in the engine as it showed 20hp gain froma carburetor change. My intent was to build a 500hp/500tq motor for the street with 5% era allowed, but I can surpass both with a little more tuning and bigger carb. This engine was still pulling over 6200 rpms.
Here is 5 of the dyno sheets.

From which carb to which carb did you pick up 20hp?
What is your compression? Why didn't you swap headers on the dyno to see what you could pick up?

Nice numbers! I can see right off the bat that your setup acts totally different from mine. And I agree with you - more tuning and it should get even better. Lookin good!
BTW - I can barely see the sheets you posted (small) - what size carb you running? I know mine is jetted way higher than what you have yours....but I have a 650 DP....

I could not use my Hooker 2460 because they were hitting the bellhousing on the dyno stand. Now I need a long tubes Hooker 2055 anyone have some for sale!
The guy had already modified the bellhousing to clear my oil pan (Milodon 7Qt), so he would have had to do a lot more cutting on his bellhousing to get the shorties to work.
My compression is 10:48:1 and a quench of .041.
Thanks
David
