The Lingenfelter Corvette Part II
im sorry but i hate it when these moderators keep closing these threads. There's no war going on, apologies were given and everyones giving their opinion on the subject. No wonder many people leave this site. Cant talk about anything anymore, sort of sounds like Mayor Juliany(the devil of New York)
Sometimes I enjoy the bull. I'm just sayin...
At lease Ede explained why he closed the thread and is allowing a continuation. I thought that was pretty upstanding of him.
Oh, and in keeping with the topic, I'd take the Corvette any day of the week. It just looks better and it just HAS to be more comfortable than the Maclaren (sp?).

Yes the vette is nice, but at 800 hp, you have a dragster, that's all. The F1 is 1.25 tons, and has the suspension and braking to out-do just about everything on the road.
Of the current american production lines, I love the vette, and the mods they did to the LS-1 making the new LS-6. I hate the look of the new Dodge vipers, but you still gotta respect the power they make!
Still for all out Pro Street/FORMULA 1 the McLaren will rock the competition.
As for the cost, well look at the body material!!! The body is Carbon Fiber!!!! I can't stress these points enough, it uses the most exotic materials, to make it as light, powerful, and nimble as possible. I am sure they would be more than willing to set up a race w/ the Ligenfelter Vette if Liggenfelter was up to it, but I am sure since he is quite intelligent, that he would not want to be embarassed in a loss like that.
Oh yeah, other reasons for the price--Hand built, with STRICT QC. (Not like porsche who found when they went to automated production they had less problems). To maximize thermodynamics the enging compartment is lined with 24+ karet gold. It comes with a titanium tool set, with everything you will need to work on the car. Carbon fiber body (I know a repeat, but this stuff costs big $$$) Plus look at the research cost of the thing. How many dyno/wind tunnel/flow benh hours do you think were logged.
Out of our price range, yes, overpriced, well, is SLP overpriced? The do similer amounts of research and use only the best materials, i mean $450 for headers? $350 for the cat-back? well, we got 409SS and 305 SS in thoe pipes! No wonder! Plus, all the flow bench hours finding the routing/shape/diameter that flowed the sbsolute best. I bought the set and had the headers coated, and pro installed. I had to save for 4 months on my college student budget, but it was worth it. So is the F1.
Ok I've ranted enough, I'll bet no one posts about the F1 again now
BTW the info obtained above was from

About a year or so ago the message boards were taken down because of this problem, so non-tech threads tend to get locked quickly.

to all of you here and on the other thread: first i don't want to sound like a ***** or hard *** , i'm not. the thread was closed for several reason, mostly you all are going to play nice on my board, if you don't like it here you can write me, or any of the moderators, the adminstrators, or leave. none of us want you to leave, i sure don't, and we all want you to have a good time here. if you want to post non tech go to www.nethirdgen.org i read the original thread at 5am for the first time and locked it, no i never read every word. i spend way too much time here to read everything and to read all that i look at entirely.
vortech (sic)305 posting on here saying what a poor job i do solves nothing and how there was no flame war going on. write me, or dirk if you have a problem, or idea and see if you can resolve it. i believe in my original reply i never singled you out by name did i? so why draw attention to yourself now? thank all of you for understanding.

In my opinion this thread has nothing to do with our cars and should be locked to. What more is there to say that hasn't already been said in the first one? What's the point and who cares. I can't afford a Million dollar car and I doubt anyone else here can so why keep talking about this and taking up space. This is a Third Generation Board which pertains to '82-'92 Camaro's and Trans Am's not Corvette's or that other hunk of junk. If you want to talk about Corvette's find a Corvette Forum. If you want to install that engine from the Vette into your Camaro or T/A then this is your place.
