Car Still Heats Up!!

Lately while sitting in traffic or having the car in park the temp will start to rise to 220-230. I bought a Griffin 2 row aluminum radiator and it has seemed to help going down the road the temp is around 160, but if I drive the car a good distance and sit in traffic, the temp will rise still. I have a 160* thermostat, my airdam isn't exactly angle right to force air up into the motor but that won't help anyways in traffic. I have a new radiator cap. This weekend I am going to take off my small crank pulley and put the stock one back on. Has anyone had a problem w/ a small crank pulley. I am guessing this is my problem, because it is slowing the water pump down too much at idle to flow adequate water. Also I was told that I have a short in my system that is causing my alternator to squeal when I have my lights on, which drops my volts, could this be related in any way to my temp. problem.

is your fan working? is the air flow through the radiator blocked? is your gauge accurate? the low voltage may play a part in the fan not working or spinning fast enough.

Just because your altenator squeals when you have your lights on doesnt mean you have a short. All that means is either your belt isnt tight enough or your belt needs replaced. Underdrive pulleys will effect it to.

The belt is totally tight, and it is new. I have a manual fan by the way, I had put an electric 2400 cfm fan on the old radiator but that didn't help, so I just stuck w/ the manual one. There is nothing blocking the radiator, plus I have a tranny cooler.

Guess, I'll update this so others can see.

I found the problem, I put a smaller crank pulley on and it didn't have a slot for one of my belts, so I guess by running with one less belt, it was putting a strain on the alt/water pump thus not allowing it to spin as fast as it should.
