i have a what i believe to be a 350 in my 1965 chevy c-10, that i am planning on rebuilding and dropping in my car.
well what i want to know is what CI is this enigne, the #s stamped on the drivers side of the block read "3970044" below the GM stamp, want to aslo know anything else possible about it, i beleive it has a stock bottom end and the cam was changed to something bigger, not sure how big of a lift, stock heads as well, i took the head off and measured one of the cylinders shown in the pic, thanx for the info

3970044 isn't a number I recognize; but 3970014 is a familiar one, a very common 4" bore (350) casting from the mid-late 70s.
Not much else to know. It's a 4" bore block. Once you get past verifying that, there's not a whole lot of difference from any one to any other.
If they're the stock truck heads (probably 882 or 624 castings), they're garbage. Throw them away. You'll never get any real performance out of those. The cam too.

You say the cam was changed over to something bigger? The only way to determine what cam it is is to yank it and look at the end; at the part number or grind number.
Grab the casting number off the cylinder heads, too (under the valve covers).
