There isnt much need to adjsut the tps unless its overly high or low. The ecm automatically calibrates by taking the tps value at startup as a baseline and using that as teh reference for closed throttle. Just make sure the tps volts are reasonable with the throttle closed and call it a day. Something like .5 or .6 volts would be fine.

I beleive that the wires youll want to back-probe will be black (sensor ground) and dark blue (tps signal). They may also be marked as 'A' and 'B' on the connector. I cant remember. The having to adjust the tps thing is sort of a myth. It really only needs to be adjusted when, for some reason, the min air has been changed alot or the sensor has been replaced. This is only to ensure that the voltage wont be out of the normal range for closed throttle.
As far as reading the voltage and adjusting the tps, a scantool or scan software is much easier to use. Jsut look at the raw output and set the tps accordingly.
