What is the difference in the GM Oem engine they put in 97+ GM Trucks Vortec 5.7L and the 330hp Vortec Crate motor. Is it just a cam difference or did they do some head work too. I have found several oem vortecs in salvage yards for $250-$400 in burned vehicles. Since I would be incorporating my tbi system on to the vortec motor all I would need is the long block assembly and maybe a Scoggin zz4 take off cam to get some decent power without breaking the bank. Thoughts? Flames? anyone.
