need explanation...

In my Helm Inc. Dealer service manual (for anyone who has it 8A-81-2) im looking at the wiring schematic for my oil pressure gauge and the part that show for the oil pressure sensor says "fuel pump/oil pressure sender/switch"

What does my oil pressure sender have anything to do with my fuel pump?

On some models the oil pressure sender and the oil pressure switch were combined into one unit.

That being said, since they are the same unit, the pressure sender/switch is the backup to privide power to the pump in case the relay fails.

Just above the oil filter, About an 1" thick and ~2.5" long. there could be a sender or just behind distributor, a bell-looking object.

If yours is the sender/switch combo, look for something in either of these locations. Should be a 3 wire connector.

awesome
also i forgot to ask, what is it that powers the oil pump

I know some of these are pretty basic questions but im 17 and i seem to do an okay job of problem solving when things go wrong with my car but i also have a limited knowledge as to how certain things on the car work

Oil pump gets driven by the distributor, via the oil pump drive shaft. There is no electrical thing about it.

Dont worry, you'll learn. We all did at one point in time. Heck, I'm only 20 and still learning.
